Well, for those of you who are still bothering to view my blog, you may be wondering just what the heck I've been doing for these past 4 weeks since Charleston. Well, it's a long, sad story, one which I have no desire to put online for all the world to see, but hopefully most of my loyal readers already know what's been happening. In any case, I'm back now and ready to share all of my mis-adventures!
This past weekend I had my first ever encounter with a drive-in movie. It was an interesting, if expensive experience. They only charged $4 per person to see two movies, so you would think that you are getting quite a deal. And you would be - provided you had dinner before you got there. If you hadn't, then you would spend quite a bit of money on the admittedly delicious hot dogs, hamburgers, sno cones, soft pretzels, nachos, ice cream, and oh yes, popcorn that were available at the concession stand. I am aware that theaters make their money from concessions, but this drive-in had a lot more than your standard fair, and as a result, I spent more for one night at the movies than I ever have before. Other than the costs involved, I enjoyed the experience. Well, I enjoyed it after I got some bug spray. They showed "The Island" which I liked much more than I thought I would. I just love movies that have a title that has very little to do with the actual plot. Makes you surprised when you finally see it. So, in closing, go to the Hwy. 21 Drive In in Beaufort sometime. Bring a lawn chair, bug spray - and for the love of god, eat dinner before you get there.
